Far from the busy Costa’s, yet just 50 minutes
drive from Alicante Airport this large sympathetically
restored Finca (farmhouse) is set in its own 6 acres of almond groves. With stunning
views, the house is surrounded by rolling fields of almonds and vines
close to Jumilla, a major wine-producing region of Southern Spain,
with lots of fantastic wine to discover and to sample. The house
lies in a valley sheltered by mountains over which there are
wonderful sunsets.
The house itself used
to produce its own wine until 12 years ago and the old bodega has
now been converted into a large kitchen dining area which still houses
the original wine press.
There is plenty to do if you don’t fancy lying by the pool
all day and having a BBQ as the sunsets. The beaches are a mere 50
minutes away and the fantastic Spa at Fortuna is just 30km, Murcia
is 60km away and has much to offer the sightseer and shopper. Closer
to home the nearby towns of Jumilla and Pinoso have plenty of
restaurants and bars for you to practice your Spanish and try all
the fresh produce and tapas.
The area has
many castles and buildings that reflect the diverse and sometimes
turbulent past of the region. The Moorish and North African
influences sit side by side with magnificent churches &
cathedrals.
